Happy National Taffy Day! Luke's Classic Candy Tasting #2

All posts on the Kids' Table were written entirely by kids! Here, Luke (age 10) reviews more classic candies!

Smack It! Crack It! Happy National Taffy Day. Today I will be tasting four types of Turkish Taffy: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Banana.

I’m using a new rating system: smiley faces. Five smileys is the best, one smiley is the worst.

So, let’s tear right in. First things first. You need to crack and smack the taffy to break it in to small, chewable bits.

As soon as you touch it, you know it’s sticky. You also feel the stickiness when it’s in your mouth. It tastes like a vanilla milkshake when it is a little melty (YUM). It also has the texture of a Bit-O-Honey

I would rate it 🙂🙂🙂🙂.

The chocolate is not as sticky or as strong as the vanilla. It is very chewy.

I would rate it 🙂🙂🙂.

The strawberry Turkish Taffy tastes like strawberry milk. It is very tough, and the color looks like bubble gum.

I would rate it 🙂🙂🙂🙂.

Here’s some advice: if you don’t like artificial banana, you might want to avoid this. I sometimes like artificial banana, but I didn’t like this that much.

I would rate it 🙂🙂.

After I tried each one, I thought we should try some combos. Mix chocolate and vanilla and it tastes like a chocolate milkshake. Same with the strawberry and vanilla—just like a milkshake. Chocolate and strawberry is my favorite combo.

If you try any of these combos, or if you have any ideas for combos, please comment below! I’d love to try your ideas.
